Why Are Buckley & Fusion
Conservatism Important?

Part 3: We Still Need Fusionism

Starting with foundational ideals and a penchant for building grassroots support for conservatism, William F. Buckley, Jr. and Frank Meyer enabled both Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan as popularizers of Fusion Conservatism.  In this final session, Mrs. Dunlop implores both libertarians and traditionalists to continue to seek common ground to further the conservative cause as neither one can succeed by themselves.  While there will always be a natural tension between the two, they are not incompatible as both were essential to the American founding, and are still unremittingly needed today.
