Alternative Voting Systems

It should be evident that our electoral system isn’t perfect, as no system is; but, it is just one of many voting systems that political scientists have devised. The United States, India, Canada, and the United Kingdom (among others) use First Past the Post, while countries like Germany, New Zealand, and Romania (and many more) use a system called Mixed Member Proportional Representation (MMPR). This mechanism is designed to produce a political landscape more closely representative of the votes of the citizenry. Watch the following video on MMPR now:
