In this third session, Dr. Spalding lays out a political construct identifying the four modern waves of progressivism.  The key leaders for each wave were Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Barack Obama.  Each successive wave sparked massive reform efforts, including the New Deal and Great Society programs, that enlarged the power of the government at the expense of the individual.  After WWII, the rise of intellectual conservatism begins to take form in an effort to restore, or conserve, our founding principles.
