People live life as if the greatest value or good is pleasure alone. “As long as I can be happy, what else is there?” This is not a new idea. In fact, philosophers both ancient and modern have argued that the pleasure principle is the greatest motive of all. The question is not if we seek pleasure, but where we seek it. This course examines various approaches to the question, “What will lastingly satisfy my deepest desires?”
In the following videos and essays you will encounter differing views of this pleasure principle. Read, watch, think, and then live out a life aimed at the greatest good.
