Is Gender

The Gender Revolution: Transgenderism

Along with the notion that gender is chosen, rather than God-given, comes the idea of transgenderism. Janet Mock, author, speaker and trans activist, originally shared her* story of transition in an article published by Marie Claire called “I Was Born a Boy.” Watch the following interview in which Piers Morgan asks Mock about her personal story.

After the Marie Claire article was released, Mock expressed dismay with the title itself, emphasizing her own view of the difference between sex and gender. For Mock, she believes she was always a girl, despite the fact that she was born biologically male. Therefore, the title “I Was a Born a Boy” is incorrect and misleading. In the following video, subsequent to the initial interview with Morgan, Mock explains why it is so offensive to hear that she “grew up as a boy” or “was born a boy.”

(*The decision to employ 1) the person’s preferred pronoun, 2) the pronoun consistent with the biological sex assigned at birth, or 3) a “gender-neutral” pronoun in itself demonstrates the far-reaching effects of the gender revolution, touching even language and grammar.)
