Why Does Creation
Care Matter?

Introduction

Several years ago, George Carlin did a comedy routine called “Saving the Planet.”  His rather “off-color” presentation precludes our sharing much of his tirade, but the following video contains the first segment.

The frustration depicted in this opening video is shared by many. It seems some have gone overboard in the name of “saving” the environment.  But just as there are many like Mr. Carlin who believe we should not be asked to do much of anything in regard to our planet, the opposite view continues to be promulgated as well.  The following video is the movie trailer for the first of many planned films by Disney to help educate young people on environmental issues.  They would say we are not doing enough.

So is there a balance to this question?  In what ways can man care for the planet?  How can we live somewhere between hubris (believing we can save the planet by our own intellect) and ignorant bliss (not even thinking about how to live responsibly on this planet)?  A lot is being said about this topic right now.  How much of it is true, and how much of it really matters?
