Should We Be Skeptical
of Everything?

Summary

Dr. Keller states that what is truly needed in our day is more honest discussion leading to humbly held but clearly and firmly articulated beliefs.  How can you promote and engage in honest dialogue, even with skeptics?  What will it take?  Are you prepared to engage in it?  It is not enough for you to become a Thinker, you must seek to help others do the same.

The forum you have watched is by the Veritas Forum.  This group seeks to bring civil debate to college campuses around the nation.  If you would like a similar experience for your own college, consider seeking how you might bring them to your university if they are not there are already.  More information can be found online at http://www.veritas.org/.

Throughout history and in most of the literature of our culture we find that truth, spoken passionately but with love, can win the day.  This is in large part due to truth being real.  Finding truth ourselves and leading others toward it is a liberating endeavor.  Historically, liberals have been those who loved the truth and sought to bring truth to bear on how we live so that the freedom of truth might reign.  Love others enough to talk with them honestly about what is true. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32, NIV)
