Ideas have consequences. In this session, the consequences of fifty years of feminism are examined and the questions arise as to what has been good and what challenges remain for this movement. With feminism still alive and well in our society, has it generally improved things for women? What is left for the movement to accomplish? Has the movement stayed focused on its mission, or has it been derailed? Any movement has to examine itself.
In the following video, one author is interviewed who takes a skeptical view of what has been taught and learned and accomplished during the modern feminist movement. Danielle Crittenden, here interviewed by Allan Gregg, has written a book entitled, What Our Mothers Didn’t Tell Us, and believes that a number of the basic tenets of feminism are either wrong or inconsistent. Examine the movement and its remaining challenges as you watch this video.
