The three previous stewardship courses have examined the philosophy and practice of time, talent, and treasure stewardship. It is important to remember that each of these comes from the Lord—they are given as gifts, and it is up to us to manage them wisely. While the world typically encourages a self-centered approach, we have learned that God’s Word offers a different guide. When we understand that God’s commandments are for our own flourishing and that time, talent, and treasure ultimately belong to Him, it becomes easier to hold these resources loosely and to use them obediently.

Compass, the sponsor organization for these stewardship courses, is a non-profit ministry committed to teaching people of all ages how to handle money based on the principles of the Bible. Because Compass believes that God’s way of managing money and possessions is so much better than the world’s perspective, they have developed a curriculum called “Give, Save & Spend,” to be used with college and high school students in a variety of formats. They also offer an incredible amount of free material for those interested in exploring these three facets—giving, saving, and spending—of financial stewardship.
