By Cato | Free Think U Foundation is proud to announce its most recent scholarship winners, Drew Burchard and Taylor Schmidt.  Both Burchard and Schmidt attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), participating in the November Free Think U scholarship competition at UNCG.  Each earned a $1,000 scholarship toward their winter term tuition.

Burchard is a freshman Sociology major with a concentration in Criminology and a minor in English. He was accepted into UNCG’s Honor’s College and is a recipient of the Eagle Scout award in 2011. Drew plans to apply to the FBI Academy once he has graduated, with hopes of working for the FBI.

“Free Think U allows students to think critically about important questions,” Burchard said.  “The courses are interesting and I always learn something new, or learn about a new perspective. I’m in.”

Taylor is a freshman Business major with a minor in Philosophy. He is an outdoorsman and played football, soccer and basketball in high school.  Taylor has been a Student Ambassador for Free Think U for the past two years and has been involved in numerous Free Think U student focus groups.  After he graduates, he plans on becoming an Officer in the United States Marine Corps.

“Free Think U gives you great opportunities to learn what it means to be an American, and an exceptional thinker. As a student ambassador, I’ve had the opportunity to provide insight to the organization from a student’s perspective – and I’m excited to see Free Think U become a household name in the years ahead.”
