The Amy Carmichael Missions Scholarships
The Amy Carmichael Missions Scholarships are part of the grassroots "learn-to-earn" movement.
This Scholarship Award aims to empower young adults with key principles of preparation for service in a cross-cultural missions context, to help them be more effective in their service to others and their service for Christ.
Named after Amy Carmichael (1857-1951), a path-breaking Christian missionary who opened an orphanage and founded a mission in India. She served in India without furlough for 55 years, and wrote many books about her service there that have offered encouragement and inspiration to millions, including the classic "God's Missionary." She was vigorous in her preparation and her work to carry the Gospel. She was quoted as saying, now famously: "It is a safe thing to trust [God] to fulfill the desire that He creates.
The Amy Carmichael Missions Scholarships are offered by individual sponsors to students who complete the courses and activities presented below. The sponsor is able to use this scholarship platform as a way to "unlock" funding relating to ministry and learning opportunities, for students who show the intentionality of completing the learning requirements. Free Think University will send a certificate of completion to the student once the requirements are met, so the Award can also be referenced on applications and resumes.
